Studio Rules and Regulations

  • Students are expected to be courteous and respectful at all times.
  • Students need to be under parental supervision when not in the classroom unless in the afterschool program.
  • Students need to be picked up promptly after class.
  • Proper class attire/uniform is required. This include, shoe laces for tap shoes, knee pads for hip hop, tights for Ballet
  • All hair must be done up suitably for the class.
  • No jewelry or watches are to be worn in class.
  • Street shoes are not allowed on the dance studio flooring.
  • No drinks or food is allowed in the bathrooms, equipment storage or studio.
  • No gum chewing at any time.
  • In class visitor observation is at the discretion of the instructor.
  • Please keep noise level to a minimum in the hallway while classes/rehearsals are in progress. Parents may watch classes through windows as long as it does not become disrupting to the class.
  • Students are to arrive early so that they are warmed up and prepared for class.
  • Sweater warm ups are allowed only in cold weather, must be form-fitting and must be removed when requested by the instructor
  • Consistent attendance and effort is key to improvement. Students must attend class regularly or they may be placed in a lower level class.

 

Tuition

  • Tuition is payable in ten installments, with each installment due on the first of each month.
  • Checks should be made payable to Dance Dynamics.
  • There is a $20 service charge for any returned checks.

Holidays

  • The studio is closed on Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, President’s Day, Easter (Spring Break), and Memorial Day.
  • The studio is NOT closed for teacher’s meetings, exams, or other school holidays.  The studio reserves the right to request rehearsal during Spring Break.

Missed & Make-Up Classes

  • If the public schools are closed due to inclement weather, the studio will be closed if the roads are still unsafe at class time. Call the studio if you are uncertain whether or not we are open.
  • Cancelled classes will be made up at a later date.
  • If you miss a class, you still pay for that lesson. If you miss several classes, we will try to arrange a time to make up the work.
  • If you plan to discontinue dance lessons, you must notify the studio or you will be charged for all classes until notification is received. Two weeks’ notice is required for cancellation.

 

 

Class Rules

  • Students should be on time for class. Plan to arrive approximately five minutes before your class, and be ready for your first subject.
  • Do not wear dance shoes outside. Change them at the studio. This will keep your shoes clean and in good condition, and protect the studio dance floor. Proper class attire/uniform is required. This include, shoe laces for tap shoes, knee pads for hip hop, tights for Ballet
  • On wet days, change your shoes in the waiting area.
  • No street shoes on the studio dance floor!
  • Keep your shoes and dance paraphernalia with you in the studio. Put your name on all of your dance equipment. Do not leave your things in the waiting area or the costume shop. Dance Dynamics is not responsible for lost or stolen dance equipment. 
  • No unnecessary talking during class. This applies to both students and observers.
  • No video cameras are allowed in class without advance permission from the studio.

Dress Code

  • Ballet requires pink leotard, tights and ballet shoes under five years old, over 5 wear black bodysuit tan tights and hair in a bun.
  • Acrobatics requires a black leotard, unitard or biker pants over leotard. No t-shirts or only footless tights tights.
  • Boys, all ages: Solid-color t-shirts and shorts, biker pants, warm-up pants, or jazz pants. No pockets.
  • No jewelry or watches.
  • Hair must be pulled back from the face, and long hair must be worn up.
  • Hip Hop classes wear black hip hop shoes and kneepads.

Performances

  • We offer our students one performances opportunity during the year. In May students are invited to perform in our annual recital additional information about our recital is announced in our newsletter or packets available at the front desk.
  • Costumes for the May recital will be ordered in December.
  • Recital costume payment plan: A $45 deposit is required by November 30. The balance is due by February 1, 2010.
  • Recital pictures are taken May 16
  • Recital is held in mid May 22
